I've committed a change which will produce a more meaningful warning in 
this case.

Yes, you can use Venus, using your existing htmltmpl templates.  And yes 
you can take advantage of filters.

What you won't be able to do is make use of features like XSLT 
templates, and FOAF based reading lists.
